Jornalismo – O Quarto Poder

- A fonte
- Criação crítica
- A objetividade, ideal e realidade
- O sistema 1
- O sistema 2
- Grandeza e servidão do audiovisual

Diretamente, a atividade jornalística fica completamente bloqueada.

Journalism - The fourth power: The fact should not be manipulated in favor of government interests

The book journalism - the Fourth Estate, was written in Paris in 1974 by French Marc Paillet and is divided into eight parts: Components of choice; The source; Creation critical; The objectivity, ideal and reality; The system 1; The system 2; Area servitude and the audiovisual and information and society.
Paillet discusses the relationship that journalists and news agencies from exercising the power and the way that professionals in the information they behave with sources and fact. The author explains how came the journalism and its assimilation by the company, as it carries out the function of the news channel. At work is emphasized that journalism has become an integral part of ideological activity in the countries of popular democracy. This relationship is so common that many newspapers in various parts of the world where the journalist is a member of the establishment, no longer speak the truth, manipulate the information and conceal the facts in favor of governments that show, expelled or resigns journalists who write anything related the internal crises, and so the journalistic activity completely blocked.
According to the author, the lack of objectivity results in loss of credibility, and that information influence since the listing of the stock exchange, until the stability of governments. The use of stereotypical formulas and practice, makes the reporting of the facts dehumanize something. The author notes that the trader must exercise its function with ethics and responsibility, since it is he who receives the messages to convey it to the receiver.
The discrepancy between the flow of events in the flow of news is great. The journalist must select what is relevant and maintain the frequency and remember that part of their culture or ideology is transmitted to the receiver (which form a group of millions of people) is using the tools of journalism printed or audiovisual media, such as television and radio.
The book journalism - the Fourth Estate, remember that not always the event suggested by staff is published. The correct procedure is to examine the version consistent with the truth. But often it is flawed because the power in the new society is built and maintained by the superstructure, sign media and therefore to maintain the same, using many tricks media.
Therefore, it is possible to reach the conclusion that the information is one of the largest chains of the humanities and something essential from the discovery that the press helped to develop the worlds. Without the signs of movement, the human being is doomed to delay, due to lack of instruments and how the communication takes place.

A sociedade novamente deve brigar contra a manipulação.

Segundo Elza Correia, “havia desproporção do tamanho do mato”.

The role of media in elections

The media performs the role of informing the receiver through messages that can reach the most simplified possible. The songs as marketing, advertising, and materials depicting the campaign to help build the image of political candidates. The free time is another weapon that gives strength and helps to leverage campaigns. But time free election and marketing are separate.
In recent years the marketing moves. The politicians are sold as a product and trained to convince the voters. The marketing builds and changes the image of the candidates by producing television, and bad candidates poor. There is no way to restrict the progressive parties that adhere to marketing. The advertising campaign is bad for democracy, can elect as many candidates for propaganda that build lies.
Many television stations are against the election campaign, thinking they should be phased out and make on-site discussions, which are more explanatory and cost less. It is also possible to say that in the absence of the free time many voters do not know the candidates who have little money to spend on campaigns.
According to Professor Hanna Ayoub Ayoub, the Ethics, Journalism and Politics, many communicators are able to vote through the press, whether on the radio, newspaper print or television. Examples such as former mayor Antonio revoked Belinati (see box), Alvaro Dias, Barbosa Neto, Antenor Ribeiro, Jose Makiolke are phenomena that are not restricted to Leicester. Other candidates, such as Moses and Leonidas Sydney Souza, came on television after achieving mandate. Brazilian law states that the communicator must leave the station before the elections. By common sense, the candidate-presenters has the advantage of achieving more votes due to exposure in the media.
However, many candidates do not re-elect-presenters, as Makiolke Jose, Paulo Sergio and Moses Leonidas, for having an attitude that "supporting". Does not diminish the profession, as other professionals such as doctors and lawyers are able to elect, taking into account posture and political behavior.
Little evidence indicates the impartiality of the media, but it is clear that it handles and follows the dictates of the elite capitalist entrepreneurs or associated with them. So you should pay close attention and take mistrust. The people against this kind of matured and there are political movements of journalists and civil society that wants to be more impartial media.

The manipulation of information

The bias is observed in many vehicles and realizes something is more or less evident. The Perseus Abramo journalist and sociologist, says that one of the main features of journalism in Brazil, is the manipulation of information. This is done through non-sampling of truth to the receiver and the sophistication of no real through the unreal. According Abramo, there are four ways to manipulate the press and another on the radio and television. The concealment refers to the absence or presence of actual facts in the production of the press where the journalistic fact is hidden, unknown and not be taken public. Fragmentation is the real shatter, torn or reconnected and reivinculado in an arbitrary manner that does not correspond to the real links. The reversal is the redevelopment of the message with the exchange of information in a disorderly and incorrect. The original reality is destroyed, is creating a fact that is not. The induction occurs so that the receiver see the world the way that suits the interests of vehicle of communication. This is a result of combined articulation of other patterns of manipulation. Finally the global standard or specific to radio and television, is when the press tries to create realities on facts sensationalist. For Abramo, the distortion of reality by the manipulation of information is deliberate, with meaning and purpose, with explanation in the economy and politics.
The journalist Ciro Marcondes, author of Who handles who asserts that the manipulation has several tricks to control the ideology and forms of communication, where imperialism is the great villain of local cultures by imposing behaviors and ways of thinking in respect of the masses. The censure used as a form of manipulation is much discussed. The state, along with clusters of communication is one of the most responsible for the actions of censorship, imposing cultural actions consistent to capitalist interests and politicians.
It is evident that the caradurismo is present. Bernardo Kucinski, author of the book "Parabolic Antenna Syndrome" and "Letters acid," says that in 1989 the media supported Collor de Mello and Fernando Henrique Cardoso in 1994 and 1998 and is responsible for handling the same through pictures, text and headlines, not there is ideological exemption from the press.
There must be a part of the population, and critical awareness on the overridden. The movement organized to show the error. The company must fight back against tampering.

Because Belinati was revoked?: Second book, Belinati paid, but not cut the grass

Very troubled, the election of Londrina this year is being marked by accusations from both sides. But what is the truth about Belinati? According Fabio Silveira, 34 years, author of the book "Press and Politics: The Case Belinati," the former councilwoman and current state senate Elza Correia gave reports on a case of overpricing in roçagem bush in February 1999 when Belinati was mayor. According to Elza Correia, "there was disparity in the size of the bush." For billing, was to cut the weeds throughout the city.
At the time, the House of Councilors had difficulties to investigate. Elza began alone, but then received support from the alderman Tercílio Turini, until the month of October was opened by the committee of inquiry. Proven fraud and made a cassation, other commissions investigated the privatization of Sercomtel. In April 2000 another committee processante investigates the propaganda of the PAI. Until the procedure for prosecutors seeking redress of 30 bids in civil and criminal justice.
The appeal of political rights for Belinati lasted three years and expired in December 2003. Today Belinati has a conviction in the Court of Justice for having dual earner: in 1994, to receive as a parliamentarian and at the same time as Director of Comurb extinguished.

"É difícil manter as coisas limpas", diz Paige.

Crisis brings people to live in car in the U.S.. By Rajesh Mirchandani, BBC News correspondent in Santa Barbara (California)

Barbara Harvey sleeps with his dog inside your car
The city of Santa Barbara is proud of its style of life typical Californian, with beaches, cafes and a charming Spanish-style architecture.
Of course, everything has a price robust: located in the mountains of Santa Ynez and the Pacific Ocean, houses are worth billions of dollars.
But even in this sunny haven of wealth, many living away from the American dream.
In a parking on the opposite side of a street of luxurious mansions, the night brings a strange sight.
Some cars come and park at the corners of the land. Within each car, women, maybe some pets and suitcases full of things and bed linen.
A few meters of houses with rooms stranded, are the inhabitants of Santa Barbara who are forced to sleep in their cars.
Homelessness just over a year, they are a direct consequence of the collapse of the U.S. property market.

Houses 4x4
In this parking only for women, Bonnee (which reveals only her first name), uses a blue dress and behavior is a woman of business.
A year ago, she lived as, ironically, a real estate agency. But when people stopped buying houses, their salary, based on commissions, dried and, like many customers, she failed to pay their mortgage.
Suddenly, she found no place to live unless your 4x4.
Piles of blankets are in the trunk of the vehicle. Personal documents are in the rooms beside the banks. A box of makeup and a card from a health club (where she bathes) are in front. With it, constantly, are pictures of his former life.
She can not believe their situation.
"My God, the heart of America is bleeding," he says.
Tears begin to get out of your eyes.
"I know that things will get better, but it is sad. I really fought well."
Another 4x4 enters the parking and Barbara Harvey, 67 years down the car.
She opens the trunk and two big dogs of the breed golden retriever out.
Barbara begins her routine night. She gets some of its bags and pajamas and get a yogurt (your dinner). She then arranges blankets in the back of the car.
Barbara also used to work with the financing of real estate. But since April, she and their dogs, Ranger and Phoebe, spend every night in his car. It is tight, but she says she was sleeping in diagonal, all fit inside the vehicle.

New trend?
The park makes people who sleep in cars entering from 7 am of the night, but the public toilets close to sunset.
As a result, Barbara says he does not drink any liquid after it arrives. In the morning, she bathes in the house of a friend.
Dressed in clean clothes and comfortable wearing sunglasses, she did not seem in any way with the stereotype of the non-roof.
"It will start to have a lot of individuals who are of middle-class, but they can not buy anything. We are in a terrible economic mess. I think we still have not seen or half of what will happen to this country," says Barbara.
This new phenomenon of non-middle-class roof is difficult to quantify, but the New Beginnings, an organization that takes care of the system of parks, sleeping in Santa Barbara, says that accommodates about 55 people in six parks.
The social worker Nancy Kapp, she also a former non-roof, says that there is a waiting list for space in these parks and she receives more calls from people who are to lose their homes.
She says a new type of non-roof is emerging in the U.S..

American nightmare
"Being poor is like a cancer, this cancer is now reaching middle-class," she explains. "No matter how strong you are, is a break in the human psyche when you start to lose everything they have."
"These people worked their whole life to have a house and now everything is falling apart. This is not the American dream, is the American nightmare," says Nancy.
Prices of homes in California fell by 30% the beginning of the year until May. Few places in the United States were so affected.
But North American real estate groups say the increase in non-roof in the U.S. began with the start of the crisis last year.

Life in trailer
In another park in Santa Barbara, Craig Miller, his wife Paige, and her two sons say they feel squeezed into the small trailer where they lived for months.
"It's hard to keep things clean," says Paige. "It's hard to feel complete."
Originally from Florida, the family crossed the United States to start a new life in California. But, unable to find work full time and unable to pay rent, in the words of Craig, they were "prisoners".
He says that at the beginning, it was like vacation, but now everything is very tough.
"Getting money for food is not something on which we had to think before," says Miller.
"We hope to get out of here and find a place to stay. We're working hard for this. This is just a situation, not our destiny."
When you go getting dark in Santa Barbara, who sleep in cars are preparing for another night.
But everyone must agree soon: it is not allowed to stay there after 7 am in the morning.
Some work, others spend their days driving from one place to another.
When the night falls again, they return to the parking lot.
Compared with non-homeless from other countries and even other Americans, they still need luck.
But if the economic crisis gets worse, may appear more of them?

Universidade para o índio

No princípio eles viviam nús.

University for the Indian

In the beginning they lived naked. Then came the missionaries to cover "their shame." On the way of wealth reached the settlers opening ways for slavery. After the unequal combat of blunderbuss and cannon against bows and arrows, their lands were devoured by the "white man", before being confined to reservations. Customs, medicine and culture jade. Therefore, the Indian follows today mambembe and tattered towards the unknown and more naked than ever. However, from the moment that there is a chance to change, either through the stimulus to agriculture or entering the university, their lives are transformed completely. It is from there that there are economic and cultural changes that support and inspiration to fix the past.
At the State University of Londrina, there is an indigenous group that hopes mount an organized library and a room for special care that meets the basic needs of people leaving the village, such as resources for food, transport, housing and especially the social welfare. Besides the Indians, who mostly come from villages in the region are not interested in personal achievements, benefits themselves, or in the labor market, but think of returning to their villages to ensure the future for young people.
Leonardo Vargas da Silva, Saint Jerome from Sierra is an example. Married and father of two children, did all the elementary school in the village, but had to stop working for the countryside, this situation is common because the Indians do not have the habit of taking study. Then, with the opportunity to restart the studies, Leonardo made a supplement to 1st and 2nd grade and left for teaching. But the desire to enter the university was so, who started the course in teaching and after a year, has a new college entrance and went into medicine. Today, in addition to qualify as a pediatrician, one of the specialties that the villages most in need, Leonardo is dedicated to mental health by combating the drugs, the STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) and especially in combating drink, which is one of the major ills that affects indigenous peoples. In the future, he hopes to specialize in geriatrics, an area with few professionals.
Another native who is in line for the preservation of customs and traditions is Marciano Rodrigues, a student of Psychology at UEL. Marciano, always alert to fight the injustices and possible questions that beleaguered and oppressing its people, says the solution to so much inequality can be found through education and placement of the Indian as an individual equal to the white and not be sidelined as a , As does the elite. Creator of the draft Mental Health for the indigenous community of Parana, Marciano is so committed to the project, that the meetings, which take place on Wednesdays, will see the participation of indigenous university community, members of Sebec Service (Wellness Community University) and especially with the presence of representatives of FUNAI (the National Indian Foundation).
Despite the facilities that are being created so that the Indians have improved the quality of life from the university, Dr. Cecilia Magali Surjus Pereira, says that the cultural, social and linguistic, should be preserved to prevent any weakening of traditions and contradictions in customs. With two books published by Eduel, the Publisher of the Londrina State University: "Politics of identity: a case study with Kaingáng" and "Boys and Girls Kaingáng: the process of socialization," Magali says that the Indians through the meeting in villages, to maintain the traditions sociological, such as language, painting, crafts and food, in addition to the internal relations are different from white society, because "the culture is in direct connection with the individual."
According to the author, there are the Theories of Social Representation and Social Theory of the Subject of George H. Mead. The first states that the indigenous within the environment of the village, has a particular culture that contradicts the findings of their customs. In addition to it being common and individual. Already the subject of Social Theory of George H. Mead says that when the Indians come out of the environment and goes to the city, their personal relationship is lost, being occupied by the white culture, it is from this process as the Indians lost their culture and begins to act according to what is around you , Where the customs of the city.

The artists of control

The irrational intelligence is the ability to adapt to a living being to the circumstances of their environment is known as artificial intelligence and is applied to machinery at the hardware level. The artificial intelligence encompasses more than the intelligence of the machine, as if she wanted to train the computer to an intelligent behavior in activities that only a human being would be capable of performing, especially those involving tasks of reasoning, such as planning, strategy and perception.
In Emergency, from Steven Johnson, the author cites the case of "StarLogo", a kind of virtual modeling environment where children can build models for certain phenomena observed in the real world, and its components familiar to local interactions. Besides being a type of prosthesis of thought, a tool that takes the mind to curl around a concept that she is not naturally equipped to understand. Another system is the Hillis, who works as an agency that creates space where programs grow smart and fit, exercising the capabilities of all developers of the flesh.
It is fair to say that the digital media, since its origin fighting for control issues that involve changes, which may be linked to interactive design that expresses who is in control, in case the man or the machine? In a way the man is ready for this new environment. Meanwhile the interactive forms of control are more challenging, as the program Tap, Type, White and the code OSS, which are virtual displacements on the screen that can confuse the user. However, if the programs begin to follow its own rules or do not follow the rules, the system to stop working, there would be no overall intelligence, but without any logical operators isolates.
So the trend is so present, that the interactivity of programs in the future that shows where the hosts think has arrived, but the season shows that men are the artists of excellence in control.

Segundo a SAAE.

Extraction of clay was the main ecological disaster of Jataizinho

Brother Timothy, a Jesuit priest who came to the village to do Parana native, who was first planted the foot of coffee in the North State. From this moment begins the exploitation of the earth. Around 1867 the colony had 30 houses, a pottery, kilns to produce bricks and two mills to grind cane. It was cultivated corn, beans, sugar cane, cassava, coffee and cotton. But in the year of 1871, after the breakdown deforestation, Jatay, as it was called the city at the time, suffering its first frost, damaging several plantations. The report of Brother Timothy, on the climate, says: "The place that once was a furnace heat because of climate change, because officer was Descampe. We have had this year and last year, frost and strong and harmful, that alias, has generated a great deal of damage to most provinces. "
Most of natural woods Jataizinho was dropped and place them are the rural and agricultural properties. Currently the city, has nine thousand hectares of pastures, eight thousand hectares of crops (soybeans, corn, wheat, etc), hundred and twenty hectares of reforestation with wood energy (eucalyptus) and fifty hectares of native forests. According Joao Amaral, agricultural technician EMATER, Empresa Paranaense Technical Assistance and Rural Extension, the deforestation in the city stopped in the 80s, due to awareness of the producer and punishments imposed by the state. But the area of forests was much higher. Jataizinho has a total area of 222 square kilometers, to 346 meters above sea level, made up of sub tropical forests - perenifólia and with a forest coverage of the 6% (well below the 20% required by law). Located on the third plateau, the city is formed by a succession of basaltic spills stacked one upon another. The soil erosion opened in a staggered topography without swamp. The same is the formation of wavy laterístico plan, formed in the rock mater, commonly called "Earth Purple." The ground has two qualities: Earth Purple Eutrophic structured, with moderate clay; Latosol Eutrophic Purple, which presents clay with relief and wavy in the lower level. The climate is composed of rains that occur mainly in summer and is clear that there is a dry season. The presence of winter is much felt, because of the constant cold and frost.
According to research on the construction of Londrina, in the last 30 years the vertical growth was very strong, that is, the amount of buildings has grown a lot. All the material used, such as clay and wood were extracted from the region. The result was the devastation and environmental disaster.
According to Mantovani Jennifer Martins, a student of geography at the State University of Londrina in the past 67 olarias existed in the city: "These places were known as clay, species of subterranean wells of clay. You can still find clay in the city. "
But the stagnation reduced the number of tiles. Currently there are five in Jataizinho. The potters have already had several complications with the IAP (Environmental Institute of Parana), which tries to monitor the withdrawal of clay two years ago. In a review, decided that there should be no license for the ceramic close. An association attempts to legalize the extraction of clay, in addition to looking for another point of exploitation. The city also seeking alternatives. There are projects aimed at restoring the Jhelum, the creation of a park and a museum of ceramics.
John Amaral recalls that the awareness of rural producers in relation to the environment is biggest. With many projects in reforestation and environmental education, many farmers are abandoning crops that need plowing the land, is using now, from planting in straw. This form uses fewer pesticides, and prevent the silting of rivers and contamination.
Many residents of the river, are aware, planting native trees and leaving the vegetation grow freely. According to EMATER there should be an area of 30 meters of riparian vegetation on the banks of the river. It also provides for the reforestation of 4 square kilometers, going from the bridge until Jataizinho Rancho Alegre. But is lack of vegetation on the banks of rivers can generate disasters.
Heavy rains in Jataizinho, is something that worries the residents too, because they are responsible for increasing the level of Tibagi. At the beginning of 1997, hundreds of people were displaced due to a flood that transhipment in the river 15 meters. At the time, teams of the Fire Department of Londrina, and various Heathridge volunteers worked in the rescue of victims. The homeless exceeded the number of 300 people. The Joint Costa e Silva, took 80% of their homes covered by water. The railway line, was almost hidden by the waters
Already in relation to environmental problems that may be generated by sewage that will be dumped in Tibagi, the city is care. With drainage system, which includes the collection and treatment of domestic sewage, the coverage is 90% of the urban area, where 100% of what is collected is treated in two anaerobic lagoons and an optional. According to SAAE. Autonomous Service of Supply and Sewage, all the treated water that is poured into the river has a quality control, which is of excellent quality. The household garbage is collected from 2nd to 6th fair across town. All solid wastes are transported to the municipal landfill and is buried in trench to drain for the collection of manure, which is then channeled into a well, when sprayed fills.

A Infra Estrutura Técnica do Virtual

A emergência do Ciberespaço

O Tratamento

A memória

Futuras descobertas levarão a progressos hoje inimagináveis.

A transmissão

As interfaces

A primeira é a “realidade virtual”.

A programação

The Technique of Virtual Infrastructure: The emergence of Cyberspace

The first computers appeared in England and the United States in 1945, were calculating machines, which scientists fed with punch cards and spit listings unreadable. The technology has been facing in the 70s, with the development of economic processes. In California new technical possibilities provided the invention of the personal computer. The'80s saw the harbinger of multimedia. The information lost its status of industrial technology to combine the communications. In the'90s, a socio-cultural movement has taken a global dimension, where computer networks joined. A current cultural imposed techno-economic development. Digital technologies have emerged as infrastructure of cyberspace and new space for communication.

The Treatment

The computer combines techniques that scan the information and puts the user's disposal. The processors make calculations on data, the high-speed run in a way very simple repetitive operations on digitally encoded information. The files become smaller, powerful, reliable and inexpensive. Gordon Moore states that every eighteen months, the evolution technique allows double the density of microprocessors, linearly in speed and computing power.

The memory

The memory always moves toward greater storage capacity. From 10 mega gig in 1983 to 10 in 1993. The memory technology uses materials and processes varied. Further discoveries will lead to progress unimaginable today.

The transmission

The transmission of digital information is carried by water imaginable. The direct connection to network or online is faster. The information may vary in digital form, through coaxial copper cables, optical fiber by either via terrestrial. The progress of the function of transmission depend on several factors. The first is the ability to transfer crude. The second is the ability of compression and decompression of the messages and the third is the progress of overall systems architecture. In the 70s, networking Arpanet, the United States, that we had endured 56 thousand bits per second. In the'80s, the lines of the network could carry 1.5 million bits per second. In 1992, the lines could transmit 45 million bits per second. Research and development projects in providing for the construction of lines with a capacity of hundreds of thousands of bits per second.

The interfaces

Material interfaces are devices that allow the interaction among the universe of digital information and the ordinary world. The input devices capture and digitize the information for the computer processing. The spectrum of options for quality physical body can be directly captured by computational devices: keyboards that allow the entry of text and providing instructions to computers, mouse, through which you can manipulate "the hand" information on the screen, sensitive areas the pressure of the fingers, automatic scanners, sound modules of software.
Once stored, the abstract models are made visible. The quality of media display and output of information is critical to users of computer systems. The evolution of interfaces output has been improving the definition of information. In terms of interfaces, there are two parallel lines of research and development in progress. The first is the "virtual reality". Another survey is the "extended reality", where the natural physical environment is curdled of sensors, cameras, video projectors, intelligent modules, which are interconnected to our service.
The diversification of interfaces, combined with the progress of digitalization, converge to extension and multiplication of points of entry in cyberspace.

The programming

The software is an organized list of coded instructions, aimed at getting the processors perform a task. Through the circuits that command the programs and interpret data, acting on information, transform other programs, run computers and networks, today there are the languages of "fourth generation", which allow the creation of programmed through the design of schemes and manipulation of icons on the screen.

Programs

Applications would allow the computer to provide specific services to users. Some programs calculate the payment of employees, others make invoices, can detect the origin of breads or give advice. Applications are open to customization of evolutionary functions. The operating systems are programs that manage resources of computers and organize the mediation between the hardware and application software.

Computer to Cyberspace

The general trend is the establishment of virtual spaces for independent media, this is the depolarization of the machine. Information technology is deconstructing the computer for the benefit of the waterway and transparent communication, focusing on information. A computer is an assembly of particular units of processing and transmission. Computers can be assembled from different from identical components, and computers of the same brand contains pieces of different origins. The hardware can be assembled and found in places that are not the computers themselves. The computer is not a center but a node, a component of the network provider. Its functions sprayed infiltrate elements of the techno-cosmos.

Review: Blame it on press - Yves Mamou

Essay on the fabrication of information

Writing in France in 1991 and with a Brazilian version in 1992, the book "The fault lies with the press" by Yves Mamou has nine shares beginning with the Prologue "The information can be decoded" and the following chapters: Society blocked, in society crisis; Information, letter in the game of the crisis, the crisis is organized resistance; The power of information; The journalism to the risk of crisis; The disinformation, manipulation supreme; The Gulf, a crisis of conscience. Mamou closes with the Conclusion: The journalism in search of a statute.
"It's the press" comes the manipulation of information in the order of the source for the journalist, who subsequently published in the newspapers. Yves Mamou says that the occupation of the press becomes the victim of sources that transmit the information incomplete, false or distorted. The goal is to use the communication or the press, to modify the naturalness of the facts and change the order of events. The problem is located at the source, due to be planted in the news information collected by the journalist. It is up to the same inquiry, investigation and verification of the facts so that the credibility is not lost.
Political and traders to use disinformation as "letter" in the game of power, causing discredit the cost of deception, lies and ulterior motives. Acting in bad faith, believe the information be unfair only in the hands of the press. It is extremely valuable that a manipulation can be used as a weapon in totalitarian regimes to destabilize governments and slander.
The media play a different role in society. The TV creates a social bond with the public because of the variety and fun. Many viewers have the TV as companion and a vehicle of confidence that conveys the impression of being democratic means to achieve different social.
In the design of Mamou, the press is an extension of the information society and badly exploited can cause damage, and the quality of journalism evaluated by hearing from the public receiver.

"The leaked information may change the course of negotiations or agreements, such as the retention of savings at the time of Collor."

Therefore, Mamou reinforces the idea that journalism can be the representation of the fourth power and that information is a tool that adds strength and persuasion, but if used with other intentions can harm.

Políticos e comerciantes utilizam a desinformação como “carta” no jogo do poder, causando descrédito a custo do engano, mentiras e segundas intenções.

Capitalism as religion - By MICHAEL LÖWY

Among the unpublished papers of Walter Benjamin [1892-1940] published in 1985 by Ralph TIEDEMANN and Hermann Schweppenhäuser in volume 6 of "Gesammelte Schriften" (Suhrkamp Verlag), there is a particularly obscure, but that seems a surprising today: "Capitalism as religion. " There are three or four pages containing notes and bibliographic references; dense, paradoxical, sometimes impenetrable, the text does not leave easily decipher. How was not intended for publication, the author had no need to make it readable and understandable ... The comments below are part of an attempt interpretation, based more on assumptions than on certainties, and leaving aside certain "areas of shadow."

The text of Benjamin is, with all evidence, inspired by "The Protestant Ethics and the Spirit of Capitalism" (Cia das Letras, 2004), by Max Weber [1864-1920]. However, as we shall see, the argument goes far beyond the Benjamin Weber and, especially, their approach replaces "axiological neutral" (Wertfrei) for a scathing indictment anticapitalista.

"We need to see capitalism in a religion." With this categorical assertion begins the fragment. The following is a reference, but also a distancing on Weber: "Being a religious structure of capitalism-that is, demonstrate that it is not only a training conditioned by religion, as does Weber, but an essentially religious phenomenon would lead us today by the vagaries of a controversy universal unreasonable. "

Benjamin continues: "We can now we already recognize this time in three dashes of religious structure of capitalism." Benjamin Weber does not cite more, but in fact the three points are sustained by ideas and arguments of the sociologist, giving them a new range, infinitely more critical, more radical, socially and politically, but also from a philosophical (theological?) - And perfectly antagonistic to the Weberian thesis of secularization.

The cult: "First, capitalism is a religion purely Culture, perhaps the most highly Culture that already existed. Nothing in it has meaning not in immediate relationship with the cult, he has no specific dogma or theology. The utilitarianism wins from this point of view , Its religious color. "

Therefore, the utilitarian practice of capitalism-investment of capital, speculation, financial transactions, stock moves, buying and selling of goods-are equivalent to a religious cult. Capitalism does not require adherence to a belief, a doctrine or a "theology", what counts are actions, which represent, on its social dynamics, worship practices. Benjamin, a little contradicting its argument on the Reformation and Christianity, compares this religion to paganism original capitalist, he also "immediately practical" and without worries "transcendental".

But what allows these practices resemble capitalist economy to a "cult"? Benjamin does not explain, but uses a few lines later, the term "worshiper", so we can consider that the capitalist worship includes certain deities that are the object of worship. For example: "Comparison between the images of saints of different religions and the notes of money from various countries." The money, in the form of banknotes, would be the object of a cult similar to that of the saints of religions "common".

However, the paper-money is only a manifestation of a deity in the most fundamental capitalist system Culture: the "money", the god Mammon, or, as Benjamin, "Pluto ... god of wealth." In the literature of the fragment is referred to a passage virulent against the religious power of money: it is in the book "Aufruf zum Sozialismus," the German-Jewish thinker anarchist Gustav Landauer, published in 1919, shortly before the assassination of its author by military counter-revolutionaries . On page note indicated by the literature of Benjamin, Landauer writes:

"Fritz Mauthner (" Wörterbuch der Philosophie ") shows that the word" God "(Gott) is originally identical to" idol "(Götz), and both mean" the cast "[or" the drained '] (Gegossene ). God is an artifact made by humans, who earns a living, attracts them to the lives of humans and finally becomes more powerful than humanity. The only drained (Gegossene), the only idol (Götz), the only God (Gott) that human life is given the money (Geld). The money is artificial and is alive, the money produces money and more money, the money has all the power in the world. Who does not see, who still does not see that the money, that God is not anything other than a spirit come from humans, a spirit that has become a thing (Ding) alive, a monster (Unding), and he is the sense (Sinn) who became insane (Unsinn) from our life? The money does not create wealth, it is the wealth, it is the wealth in itself, there is another rich beyond money. "

It is true that we can not know to what extent Benjamin shared the reasoning of Landauer, but we as a hypothesis, consider this excerpt, mentioned in the bibliography, as an example of what he meant by "worship practices" of capitalism.

Without truce: The second characteristic of capitalism "is closely linked to that concretion of worship: the duration of worship is permanent." "Capitalism is the conclusion of a worship" without exceptions and without mercy. "There is no" common day ", any day other than a party, the terrible sense of the use of sacred pomp, the extreme tension that inhabits the worshiper."

Without rest, without truce and without mercy: the idea is taken up by Benjamin Weber, almost literally, not without irony, incidentally, evoking the character of the ongoing "day of celebration": indeed, the capitalist puritanos abolished the majority of Catholics holidays , As an incentive for leisure. Therefore, religion capitalist, every day sees the mobilization of the "sacred pomp", ie the rituals on the stock exchange or in the factory, while the worshipers below, with anguish and an "extreme tension", the rise or fall in the prices of actions.

The capitalist practices know no pause, they dominate the lives of individuals from morning to night, from spring to winter, from cradle to grave. As Burkhardt says Lindner, the fragment lends to him the concept of capitalism as a dynamic system, on global expansion, impossible to hold and to which we can not escape.

Finally, the third characteristic of capitalism as religion is blamed his character: "Capitalism is probably the first example of a cult that is not atoning (entsühnenden), but blamed". Benjamin continues its indictment against the capitalist religion: "Surely, the religious system is precipitated in an unnatural motion. Grotesquely A guilty conscience that does not know if ransom apodera of worship, not in order to expiate that guilt, but to make it universal, so make it come to power in the consciousness and finally and most importantly, to involve God in guilt, so that the end of the day itself has an interest in atonement. "

Benjamin evokes, in this context, what he calls the "ambiguity of the word SCHULD" - that is, while "debt" and "guilt". According Burkhard Lindner, the historical perspective of the piece is based on the premise that we can not separate in the capitalist system of religion, the "guilt mythical" economic debt.

We found in Max Weber two similar reasoning, who also played with the two senses of "duty" to the bourgeois puritan, "which aims to give" personal "is" stolen "from the service to the glory of God, we become so at the same time guilty and "indebted" in relation to God. "The idea that the man has" duty "to the possessions it has been given and to whom he is subordinate as a manager devoted (...) weighs about his life with all its weight frosty. The more the increase possessions , Heavier becomes the feeling of responsibility (...) which forces, for the glory of God (...), the increasing them by a working tirelessly. " The words of Benjamin "to get the blame in the consciousness of force" corresponds well to the practice puritanical / capitalist analyzed by Weber.

Magnitude: But it seems that the argument of Benjamin is broader: it is not only the capitalist who is guilty and "debt" with its capital-to blame is universal. Thus, God himself is involved in that general fault: if the poor are guilty and disqualified from grace, and if, in capitalism, they are condemned to social exclusion is because "it is the will of God" or, what is your equivalent capitalist religion, the desire of markets.

Of course, if we consider the point of view of the poor and indebted, it is God who is to blame, and with it the capitalism. In any case, God is inextricably linked to the process of blaming universal.

So far we have seen and the starting point of Weberian fragment in his analysis of modern capitalism as a religion originated from a transformation of Calvinism, but there is a passage in which Benjamin seems to assign a size transhistórica that capitalism is no longer that of Weber-and Neither of Marx: "Capitalism has developed in the West as a parasite of Christianity, it must demonstrate not only the purpose of Calvinism, but also of other currents of Orthodox Christianity, in such a fate as the end of the day the history of Christianity is essentially that of its parasite, capitalism. "

The outcome of the case "monstrous" by blaming capitalist is a generalization of "despair": "He is linked to the essence of this religious movement, which is the capitalism-to persevere to the end, until the complete end of blaming God, to a state the world struck by a despair that even "hope" that is fair. What capitalism has historically unheard of is that religion is not more reform, but the ruin of being. The despair extends to the state's religious world of which should expect to salvation. "

We are not far away, here in the last pages of the "Protestant Ethics", in which Weber notes, with a resigned fatalism, that the modern capitalism "states, with an irresistible force, the lifestyle of all individuals born in this mechanism, and not just those that directly concerns the acquisition cost. "

He compares this sort of coercion to a prison in which the rational system of production of goods terminating individuals: "According to the views of Baxter, the concern for foreign goods should not weigh on the shoulders of his saints but as" a light that had any time you can withdraw. "But the inevitability mantle that turned into a steel cage."

Benjamin Weber of the find ourselves in the same semantic field, which describes the ruthless logic of the capitalist system. But why he is a producer of despair?

As the "guilt" of mankind, its debt to the capital, perpetual and growing, no hope of atonement is permitted. The capitalist must constantly improve and enlarge its capital, under threat of disappearing before their competitors, and the poor must borrow money to pay its debts.

According to the religion of the capital, the only salvation lies in the intensification of the system, the capitalist expansion, the accumulation of goods, but that only makes a aggravate despair. That is what seems to suggest Benjamin with the formula that makes a state of despair religious of the world "to which we should expect to salvation."
